Private Sector Forum

Under the theme ‘Adult learning and education for sustainable development – A transformative agenda’, the Seventh International Conference on Adult Education (CONFINTEA VII) will take place from 15 to 17 June 2022, hosted by UNESCO in cooperation with the Government of Morocco.

As a critical side event in advance of the International Conference, the Private Sector Forum will take place virtually on Tuesday, 14 June 2022 from 12 PM to 3 PM (GMT+1). The forum will reflect on the current contributions and best practices of private actors in the provision of Adult Learning and Education (ALE), while also examining the evolving role of the private sector given our rapidly changing societies.

The Private Sector Forum will address three key thematics pertaining to the Future of Work; Diversity and Inclusive Participation; and Embracing Active and Global Citizenship, in line with CONFINTEA VII. The forum will conclude with a session on Ways Forward, identifying key recommendations and potential pathways to improve private sector engagement and establish a stronger ecosystem in the promotion of lifelong learning and skills.

A virtual ‘Marketplace’ session will follow the Private Sector from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM (GMT+1), which aims to showcase promising solutions on digital learning and core 21st century skills development to increase employability in diverse contexts, and to facilitate initial dialogue on the opportunities for partnerships and collaboration for rapid scaling around the world.

Representatives from the private sector, governments, multilateral organizations, trade unions, youth, NGOs, educators, and learners will be among the Private Sector Forum and ‘Marketplace’ participants.
