Webinar: Leveraging Technologies for Literacy
When chosen carefully, technologies can improve how literacy is provided, taught and learned. However, successful integration of technologies remains a key challenge in Global Alliance for Literacy (GAL) member countries.
To discuss challenges and opportunities, the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning will host a webinar titled “Leveraging Technologies for Literacy” on 23 April 2024. It will bring together policy-makers, education providers and researchers to discuss which technologies and tools are relevant to youth and adult literacy programmes, teaching and learning, and in what way. Speakers will explore emerging opportunities and the challenges posed by them, such as cost, connectivity, accessibility, provision modalities and the skills of educators and providers. By incorporating diverse perspectives from research and practice across local and national contexts, this webinar seeks to provide a better understanding of how technology can improve literacy education for all.
